Woodcraft by Owen brings a contemporary outlook to the traditional craft of wood turning.
While volunteering, Owen met a wood turner and after visiting the workshop he was hooked. Following many hours of watching others work the lathe on YouTube, a lathe was finally bought.
The usual bowls and lidded boxes were first to come, but Owen quickly realised that “everyone” was making these.
Spotting a gap in the market, Owen started to produce modern wooden jewellery and pens from carefully chosen pieces of wood. Small offcuts in exotic species, which most turners would throw away or burn, suddenly have a new lease of life. Due to the grain and texture of real wood, every piece produced is unique in it’s pattern and colouring.
